About Me
I am a Nuyorican Afro Latina Bangladeshi, living in Orlando. Growing up, I was surrounded by art. My love of art started at an early age. Born in NYC, my parents exposed us to all that New York and the Tri-State area had to offer: museums, zoos, parks, Planetarium , and the theater. Our home was full of ethnic art, music, and literature
Some of my childhood was spent living on Guam and Panama. This gave me a deep curiosity and respect for the culture and history of other parts of the world. As a woman of color, art has given me a way to express my emotions, as well as, a way to share and celebrate my culture.
As a teen, I fell in love with the MOMA in New York. I was enraptured by works of Klee, Miro, Marc Kadinsky, and Rothko. I loved the way they played with colors, shapes, and lines. In 2021, I became fearless in my own creative expression.
As a person with ADHD, depression, and anxiety, artistic expression has been transformative. For me, art captures difficult emotions and translates them into tangible colors, shapes, and textures. Creating delivers a deep sense of calm within me.
Currently, I am a Docent at the Orlando Museum of Art in Orlando. Several works displayed in galleries in Florida and New
